Project Description

The web design proposal with this project was to design a website that would be a fully functioning eCommerce store. The client had a physical salon business where customers would come for their hair appointments. However they also wanted  to develop an eCommerce business where they would sell hair accessory products online. They felt they had a market for this based on the number of inquiries they would receive in the shop for hair product accessories.

We went about scoping the website breaking down the lists of products and categories. We then downloaded an eCommerce plugin that would handle all order fulfillment for the back end of the website. The final stage in the process was designing the front end of the site. This was done with a theme template which was styled with CSS and HTML.

Project Challenge

We went about scoping the website breaking down the lists of products and categories. We then downloaded an eCommerce plugin that would handle all order fulfillment for the back end of the website. The final stage in the process was designing the front end of the site. This was done with a theme template which was styled with CSS and HTML. thedesignpool worked with the team at hairbrush.ie every step of the way in terms of ensuring all the graphics matched the list of products we had been sent. There was upwards of 100 products at the start of this process, but we managed to list them all within the project deadline.

Project Solution

With the web design proposal complete, the outcome of the project was a fully functioning eCommerce website that complements the work done in the salon. An eCommerce business such as this provides hairbrush.ie with a 24 hour selling machine, that allows them to target customers not just in their vicinity but all around Ireland.
